DEPECHE MODE

MUTE 014

Following the success of their first release "Dreaming of Me", Depeche Mode release their second single on MUTE Records.

"New Life" c/w "Shout" is available in both 7" and extended 12" versions, and is distributed by Rough Trade Records and Spartan.

Vince Clarke, 20, synthesizers, composer of all the band's material; Martin Gore, 19, synthesizers; Andy Fletcher, 19, bass synthesizer; and David Gahan, 18, solo voice and electronic percussion, are the components of Depeche Mode, the youth group that it has been attracting more attention in London for a few months now. His first single, released in April, "Dreaming Of Me", and their first album, "Some Bizarre", have served to put them on among the most impactful youth groups, impact that is now multiplied by a lot with the appearance of his second small album: "'New Life".

Depeche Mode are the perfect representatives of the "'pop-electronic"" since their only instruments are the synthesizers, despite the fact that in the beginning they played guitars and performed a less surprising music. But about a year ago they completely changed their line and they were introduced in a style that up to the present has given them nothing but satisfactions. And "New Life"' is a superb song in which the electronics accompany the voice of David Gahan to obtain an impressive final product.

When youth bands are invading our continent and rock is expanding in each and every one of its manifestations, Depeche Mode become pioneers of the most advanced and creators of a new musical fashion, as really befits its Parisian name.
